Earth Hour 2015

This Friday during 4th Block St. Cecilia will be partaking in Earth Hour!  We will be turning off the lights and unplugging for 1 hour (60 minutes).  

WITS

Ask your child all about WITS and what it stands for.  This week we have read two WITS stories "I Like Who I AM"

and "Enemy Pie".  Both stories provided a rich opportunity for discussion.

Welcome Back!

It was so wonderful seeing all of the children back after an exciting March Break!  We jumped right back into a day full of learning.  It was wonderful to see the students excited to learn and collaborate together.

We have finished our Grade 3 WWWs for this year.  Way to go Grade 3!  Yesterday we brainstormed some WWWs and other common words that the students are still finding tricky to spell.  The students chose 5 words out of our list as focus words for the week.  We also looked a digraphs and consonant blends and the students chose two blends to brainstorm word lists for.

In Math, we are finishing up 3D Geometry and beginning our unit on Time & Money.

In The Arts, we are working on Drama and Dance for the remainder of the term.  The students have put on productions of "Pirate Lee" and "Jack and the Beanstalk".  They have also started a small choreographed routine to the song "Fireflies".  We definitely have some very talented actors and dancers in Grade 3.
